 Conditional if



Condition sentence is a sentence in English that is used to express wishes, hopes, assumptions, or plans that may or may not be realized.

The general structure of conditional sentencing is:
If + condition consequence or
Consequence + if + condition

There are 4 type conditional sentences that is, type 0,1,2,3

Type 0
Used to say facts. The structure is:
If + simple present, simple present or
Simple present + if + simple present. Example:
A. If it rains, the grass gets wet
B. The prass gets wet if it rains

Type 1
Used to say something that might happen in the future. The structure is:
If + simple present, present future (will) or
Present future + if + simple present. Example:
A. If you tell her the truth, she will forgive you
B. If i win the lottery, i will take you to Bali

Type 2
Used to say something that is very unlikely or almost impossible to happen. The structure is:
Ibf + past tense, past future or
Past future + if + past tense. Example: if i became the president of this country, i would pay more attention to teachers prosperity

Type 3
Used to suppose about something that is contrary to what has already happened. The structure is:
If + past perfect, future perfect or
Future perfect + if + past perfect. Example: If i had studied harder, i would have gotten a better job

Dialogue:

Yoga: Hello Rizqi.

Rizqi: Hello yoga, What's up man?

Yoga: My baby brother keeps crying. I don't know why.

Rizqi: Maybe he's hungry. Because, if babies are hungry, they cry.

Yoga: Oh i see. Thank you for your information.

Rizqi: Ok man
